VOTE for: direct flights from Germany to Sao Vicente !

We have a kitesurf center on São Vicente (a Cape Verde island) and are trying to convince an airline company to fly from Germany to São Vicente.

But we need your vote for this!

We have done the same on the dutch forum called Hanglos.nl and received really good response which helped us to convince TACV to fly direct to São Vicente. As a result, dutch kitesurfers now get on the plane in Amsterdam, land in São Vicente and take 15 min to get to their hotel.

Some background:
Currently, there are no direct flights between Germany and São Vicente. We are in contact with an airline who wants to fly to Cape Verde from Europe. They have already obtained approval to fly to the Cape Verde islands. They have not finalized their decision where to fly from and which island to fly to.

Our suggestion would be to fly to Sao Vicente from Germany. What do you think?

We, together with our partners who specialize in flights have been negotiating prices and talking to airlines and will continue to do so.

We are a very small company (2 employees) who do not make any money out of flights but want to give kiters the chance to experience Sao Vicente and trying very hard.

We´ve had success for kitesurfers from the UK (good prices, good connections in Lisbon), Netherlands (direct flights, good prices), France(direct flights, good prices) but ...........

for those from Germany had no luck so far.

We´ve had two problems we could not overcome

1) The problem with flights and holidays organized from Germany is that the companies TUI and RIU (a German / Spanish conglomerate) have a virtual monopoly. Their power is so strong that other smaller companies find the risk of starting something new from Germany too risky.

2) We asked for votes for direct flights on this forum and only got 1!! (as compared to flights from Holland where we got hundreds. These votes helped us a lot in the past to get direct flights at a good price.

So I´m sorry I have no better news about flight prices!

In the meantime I´m happy to say that dispite the high prices from Germany (from 650 euros for return flight onwards), we have been receiving our first German kitesurfers and they have assured us that they will come back to Sao Vicente for more.
